About the University
Sri Maha Swami of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam had cherished a desire to revive Kanchipuram to its pristine glory as a centre of learning, as Kanchipuram is one of the most sacred cities in India and famous centre for learning Vedas, Sastras, Philosophy and all the branches of knowledge (Ghaṭikāsthānam) from the very beginning. To revive the lost grandeur, Paramacharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam established Nyaya Sastra Mahavidyalaya to teach our ancient Sastras. During 1993, at the holy occasion of centenary celebrations of Paramacharya, with the blessings of His Holiness Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji and His Holiness Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamiji, the university was inaugurated with the name of their illustrious Guru, Pujya Sri Chandrasekhrendra Saraswathi Swamiji. This Vidyalaya is located in a sprawling complex of 50 acres at Enathur, at a distance of about 4 kilometres from Kanchipuram.
